Veterans are taken to see their memorials free of charge through generous donations by individuals, businesses and organizations. Honor Flight Dayton is currently taking applications from veterans with active duty service from the beginning of WWII (12/7/1941) through the end of the Vietnam Era (5/7/75). Top priority is given to World War II veterans, and veterans of all wars with a terminal illness who served during these timeframes.

Guardians accompany veterans on their trip to the memorials and are responsible for their own expenses. The fee for guardians in 2023 will be $450 which is considered a tax deductible donation. Guardians provide assistance and help to all of the veterans to make sure their trip is as safe and enjoyable as possible. All flights leave from the Dayton International Airport. 

Without volunteers these trips would not be possible. Volunteers provide support on multiple levels such as fund raising, airport assistance on flight dates, help with wheelchairs, etc. There is a wide variety of opportunities to be a part of the life-changing experience for those who have given so much.
